My fur bristled, and i could hear flare's growl behind me as a deep snarl rose from my own throat. I felt static course through my fur and sparks formed in the air around me, crackling as they mixed with flare's own embers that sprouted about her.
" i will ask again" flare snarled, "why are you in our territory!"
the chocolate colored wolf answered her with a loud, almost insane cackle, licking his lips as his eyes switched between flare and me. Then in a heart beat the enemy wolf luanched himself into the air, and was upon us in a split second. i moved hastely in front of flare ready to protect her life with mine. then out of the corner of my eye i saw a flash of movement, which i recognized as flare, as she lept swiftly through the air and escaped, but i was too slow and i felt jaws tighten around the flesh of my neck. i howled a loud shriek of pain and felt blood fill my mouth.
The force of the blow knocked me off of my feet and i was thrown into the air, tossed around like a raggdoll before i finally hit the ground with a loud thump. blood stained my black and blue coat and dyed the grass around me crimson, my breathing slow and shallow as my vision blurred. pain clouding out all of my senses as my eyes slowly fluttered closed and flare's voice calling out my name faded into nothingness.
